Membrane Switch Features
Material used in the circuit layer
The base material of the circuit should be polyester (polyethylene phthalate) Film (Potyester referred to as PET). It has good insulation and heat resistance, high mechanical strength, transparency and airtightness, especially folding resistance and high elasticity.
The thickness of the plastic
The thickness of the plastic substrate is 0.25mm or below and is called a film. It is mainly used as the panel layer of the membrane switch. Various indicative patterns and text are printed on the back to indicate the operation area of the corresponding key switch. Depending on the size of the button, the material is thick, the touch force is increased, and the response is slow; the material is too thin, the feel is poor when touched, and the rebound is not obvious. Thickness above 0.25mm is called plate, which is not suitable for three- dimensional key forming. It can be used as an indicative sign panel in the keyless operation area, and can also be used as a lining for membrane switches to increase its hardness.
EMBOSSED KEY TYPE:
GoJGo can provide various types of embossed-key as following picture.
The default is circle-embossed (the left 1st ). If you need other types, you can specify it in the remarks or drawings when placing an order.
Membrane Switch with Die-pressing Key
This type of membrane switch uses silver paste as the upper circuit layer of the switch. By pressing, the center of the silver paste point is connected to the lower circuit to realize the conduction and trigger signal. Through the “die-pressing” , the silver paste disk of the button of the upper circuit is pressed into a certain spherical crown shape with a mold, and a certain elasticity is generated, so that the button can rebound when pressed, and the circuit is turned on or off. It is also obvious enough to feel the switch closed. Bumping of silver paste requires the use of molds, especially batch orders, and the need to customize the bumping molds can greatly improve the production efficiency and the stability of product quality.
The die-pressing silver pad can be designed to be 5mm-11mm, and the recommended size is 8-10mm. The button size will be more suitable for finger pressing.
Membrane Switch with Metal Dome Key
This type of membrane switch uses metal dome as the upper circuit layer of the switch. By pressing the key, the metol dome central point will connect the lower circuit, then trigger with a singal. Metal dome is usually made of stainless steel, which is flexible and can be pressed more than one million times.
The keys of the metal shrapnel have a good button touch and provide good tactile feedback to the operator. JRPanel uses stainless steel cross shrapnel, and available in specifications of 8.4, 10, 12, 14, 16mm. The metal dome size of 10-12mm is generally recommended, which is more suitable for the actual finger press.
Membrane Switch with LED
This type of membrane switch can be installed with LEDs inside. When the corresponding button is pressed, the LED will light up and be used only as the operating area of the switch. GoJGo uses Everlight’s Everlight package as a 1206 SMD LED. The LED light is welded on the circuit under the membrane switch to assemble it as a whole. The LED light window is often bumped. This type of product is mainly used for the function keyboard of the industrial control equipment of the man-machine interface.
GoJGo this product can be welded with LED lights of various colors according to customer needs. (Red, Emerald green, Blue, Yellow green, BI-LEDs, RGB LED).
Membrane Switch with Electrostatic Shield
Membrane switch with Electrostatic Shield, it is seted up electrostatic protection components (ESD) inside the device,。The main principle is to use electromagnetic shielding to shield space electromagnetic interference, thereby reducing and eliminating electromagnetic interference from space. Generally, it is used in the fields and products that are with high requirements for electromagnetic interference EMI and EMC, such as laboratory equipment, scientific research equipment, military products. The membrane switch used in the above will use a shielded electrostatic membrane switch, which has complicated art and high cost, and it is especially suitable for products with requirements for anti- electromagnetic interference performance and low cost requirements.

Flat Membrane switch
The upper circuit silver pad and the circuit layer are not emboseed. the entire panel layer is flat, the keys are no feeling when touched, and the service life of the keys is more than 2 million times. It can be used as a function membrane switch for industrial control equipment and household appliances.
Plug-in-Card Membrane Switch:
Plug- in-Card membrane switch, It will design colorless transparent window in the graphic overlay, the bottom of graphic owerlay is isolated, then it is ok to plug in the cards from the card slots in the edge side. The membrane switch is the main body, the cards can be designed in various ways, and the cards can be replaced according to actual use, which can be more flexible used. This type of membrane switch is mainly suitable for supermarket electronic weighing devices. In this kind, the Membrane switches can be used repeatedly. Only the graphics and text of the card need to be changed. Waterproof Membrane Switch
The waterproof membrane switch can be used in rainy or humid environment with waterproof and moisture proof effect.

Inspection & Check
Membrane switch & Graphic overlay
1. Check the color: The contrast of colors. Due to ambient light and other reasons, it can not be directly compared with the real sample or computer pictures. It needs to be checked with the Pantone color card. The general colors can only be closer, couldn’t be same. JRPanel uses Pantone Formula Guide Coated card. 2. Shape inspection: Check the shape and internal slots and windows accordingly according to the product design drawings.
3. Appearance inspection: check the graphics of the panel layer，the logo text, etc, whether there are defects, omissions, stains, etc. Whether the window and press position are offset. If there is protective film attached to the window.
4. Check the peel strength of the adhesive: check whether the adhesive is the adhesive selected according to the order, and test the peel strength of the adhesive is not less than N/25mm.
